Biosignal's: Sound Days

Sound Days Liepaja 2018 is a yearly festival, yearly organized by MPLab, in Liepaja - Latvia. In this context, our project Bio Signals was part of Sound Days presenting a workshop on Sonic Wilderness by Antye Greie Ripatti, a seminar by our members Andrew Paterson and Mikko Lipiäinen, and a workshop on Radical Projection Mapping by Krišjānis Rijnieks

On top of this program, I was invited to present a live Audiovisual performance inspired by the idea of Enactment.

You can listen to the recording from the performance try the sound cloud link below

Briefly, Enactment consists of a set of live electronics improvisation, blending sonic beds made with analog synthesizers and radio signals from the local stations, the sonic sources are used to create sound reactive visuals that try to bring a mood of focused listening on an environment of sonic signals.

Furthermore, I had the opportunity to assist in the workshop on Sonic Wilderness by AGF, where participants were able to experiment with improvised setups of on open-air locations while being able to listen each other on creating a musical experience outside of the conventions of listening and audience conception. Here are some pictures from this workshop and recording locations.

In the next post, I will present the outcome from the next stage of Bio Signals in the Art Festiva and Residency in Virtsu, Estonia.
