Talking Trash(lab) with James Wallbank: author of Low Tech & Zero Dollar Laptop Manifestos

The upcoming lecture in the Talking Trash(lab) series at Aalto Media Factory is this Thursday 30.8. from 1730-1900 by James Wallbank, CEO of Access Space Medialab in Sheffield, UK.

Access Space is the UK's longest running and most sustainable free, open access media lab. At Access Space, people interested in art, design, computers, recycling, music, electronics, photography and more meet like minded people, share and develop skills and work on creative, enterprising and technical projects. We operate at a low cost with a low carbon-footprint, because we only use recycled donated computers and free, open source software.

Wallbank is the initiator of Redundant Technology Initiative, and writer of two internationally renowned manifestos: the Low Tech manifesto and the Zero Dollar Laptop.He will talk about the theory and principles of working creatively with trash tech, and share recent projects he is involved with.
