Camp Pixelache 2012 – Open Call / Avoin Haku

Introduction

We are organising a more compact edition of Pixelache Helsinki Festival called ‘Camp Pixelache’ during on 11-12 May 2012, based on previous Camp Pixelache experiments. The main venue for the event is Arbis, the Swedish-language adult education centre located close to the Finnish National Museum, in central Helsinki. Camp Pixelache 2012 is designed around one main unconference day on Saturday 12.5, with an overarching theme of “Do It With Others” (D.I.W.O.). How can artists, makers, cultural producers, researchers and activists work collaboratively with  each other and audiences, to create new co-production models for  artefacts/events with sustainability as the core goal?  Within the Arbis venue there will also be demo stalls of various maker, open design, trashlab and hacklab projects.

Several other events will be organised around this main presentation/seminar day, including a keynote opening presentation on the Friday evening before; a club event on the Saturday evening; several professional workshops before and after (‘Hexayurt Sauna Talkoot’ and ‘The Art of Gathering Environmental Data’ Brunch); and lastly a learner-in-residence position for a 1 week period.

Although the Camp day of 12.5. will be organised around the main D.I.W.O. theme, there are also several pre-determined sub-themes, listed below. Each has a plenary presentation; of which the speaker will also be the facilitator of other participants’ contribution to the theme.

We  are calling out for further short  presentations (5-15mins) on the main and sub-themes; as well as for demos to join the Open Design stalls.

Esittely

Järjestämme 11.-12. toukokuuta Camp Pixelache -tapahtuman, joka on  kompaktimpi versio Pikseliähky -festivaalista ja  perustuu vuosien 2011 ja 2010 Camp Pixelache -tapahtumista saatuihin positiivisiin kokemuksiin. Tapahtumapaikkana on Arbis, joka sijaitse aivan Helsingin keskustan tuntumassa. Camp Pixelache rakentuu 12.5. järjestettävän “epäkonferenssipäivän” ympärille, jonka teema on “Do It With Others” – ”Tee toisten kanssa” (D.I.W.O.). Miten taiteilijat, tekijät, kulttuurintuottajat, tutkijat ja aktivistit voisivat yhteistyössä toistensa ja yleisöjen kanssa luoda uusia yhteistuotannon malleja taideteoksille ja tapahtumille, pitäen samalla kestävän kehityksen toiminnan päätavoitteena? Lisäksi Arbiksella järjestetään demonäyttely, jossa on esillä open design-, trashlab- ja hacklab-projekteihin liittyviä demoja.

Päätapahtumapäivän ympärille järjestetään useita tapahtumia, kuten keynote-puhujan avajaisluento  perjantai-iltana, klubitapahtuma lauantai-iltana, useita ammattilaistyöpajoja ennen ja jälkeen tapahtuman (mm. ‘Hexayurt Sauna Talkoot’ ja ‘The Art of Gathering Environmental Data’ Brunssi) sekä viikon mittainen learner-in-residence -vierailu.

Päätapahtumapäivä Camp Pixelache 12.5. rakentuu  D.I.W.O -teeman ympärille. Tämän lisäksi tapahtumalla on useita alateemoja, jotka on listattu alla. Teemoja alustavat kutsutut asiantuntijapuhujat, jotka toimivat myös teemaan liittyvän ohjelman ja muiden osallistujien puheenvuorojen fasilitaattoreina päivän aikana.

Avoin haku: Presentaatiot ja demo

Avoin haku koskee lyhyitä puheenvuoroja (5-15 minuuttia) pääteeman ja alateemojen ympärillä sekä demoja Open Design -demonäyttelyyn.
