GOTO10
./configure && make art
GOTO10 is a collective of international artists and programmers, dedicated to Free/Libre/Open Source Software (FLOSS) and digital arts. GOTO10 aims to support and grow digital art projects and tools for artistic creation, located on the blurry line between software programming and art.
GOTO10 organizes events throughout Europe, independently and in collaboration with like-minded organizations. Their aim is to live within this network of machines, people and places, to develop and teach new and existing tools, to produce, experiment and play. Aymeric Mansoux and Marloes de Valk have been invited to design some parts of the Pixelache programme for GOTO10:

Puredyne Code Sprint
Puredyne is a GNU/Linux live distribution based on Ubuntu and Debian Live aimed at creative people, looking for tools outside the standard. It provides the best experimental creative applications alongside a solid set of graphic, audio and video tools in a fast, minimal package. For everything from sound art to innovative filmmaking. During 3 days developers from the Puredyne Team and guests Dave Griffiths and Gabor Papp will work together on improving Puredyne as a tool for live audiovisual performances and work towards better integration of software such as Fluxus.

`chmod +x art`
exhibition at Kerava Art Museum
The computer as theater, as writer of love letters, the computer as world, a place for revolution, art as executable. chmod +x art presents artists that turn our ideas, dreams and fantasies about machines and code up side down and show programming as an infinitely intriguing way of creating. Code is a medium. Whether it is used to formulate instructions for a machine, ideas for people or both. The writing of it influences and shapes the creative process of the artist. For that reason, ghost programmers may be left at home. Besides the importance of writing code yourself, it is essential to show that code. Without source, software art remains a magic trick. Do It Yourself and show us your sh*t!

Breakfast Club III
Coffee, Croissants and discussion
Start your day with croissants, coffee and a shower of refreshing short interviews by Nathalie Magnan with several pixelache 2010 artists and guests. The format is simple, take people early in the morning, bring breakfast and start to talk about issues that have raised or have been inspired by the festival’s theme, the works and presentations they saw. With the participation of several Pixelache guests, crew … and you!
